My van was running horribly with the check engine light flashing. TA was able to fit me into their schedule the next day. The mechanic replaced the #3 coil and mass airflow sensor (replaced just two years ago) for about $630. The engine ran 75% better, but still shuddered and would almost die at stop lights. The manager said it still needed all the sparkplugs and wires replaced (which were all new 4 years ago), along with two other air sensors. I didn't have the money to do those things so waited a few weeks for my tax refund. I ended up trying a different shop, where the problems were identified as a partially blocked egr valve and a faulty pcv valve. The mechanic there said nothing was wrong with the sparkplugs, wires, or air sensors. The van runs perfectly now. Glad I tried a different place!
I am glad that the other mechanic had identified the problem and was able to fix the problem. I wish you had brought your van back for us to re-examine its problem. Thanks for letting us know that your van runs perfectly now.
